Come join The Parade!
6/13/2009 6:13:00 PM
Having won a ribbon last year in the Fairfax City 4 of
July parade, FUMC is ready to do it again. The theme is Hand in Hand, United
We Stand, and we want to invite everyone to come by the Fellowship Hall between
services today to trace your hand on a piece of construction paper. These hands
will be cut out and become “leaves” on a tree that will be the centerpiece of our
float. Please see one of the Evangelism/Float coordinators in the Fellowship Hall
to sign up to do your part or at the least to trace your hand! This is a great opportunity
for fellowship and a spirited way to reach out to others who are looking for a new
church community.
We need to borrow the following items: -
-20 small to medium clay
pots with flowers (to be used one day only)
-One squirrel headcover from a golf
club….someone must have one!
-Larger stuffed animals in the shape of birds….to
sit on the tree limbs. Items need to be brought to the church by July 2nd and will
be returned to you on Sunday, July 5th.
We need people to volunteer for the following
work:
-Bridge/Base team – to construct the structure of the float.
-Design team
– to cut out and string hands on the tree and to complete the finer design details.
-Participant/Walker team – to be available on July 4th to participate in the parade,
creating excitement and handing out candy and flyers.
