About our
services
We recognize that you
may be unfamiliar with the church service.
Please use the service bulletin to help guide you. The worship service is in three parts: Gathering, Proclamation and Response,
and Sending Forth. Gathering
is a time of preparation and prayer as we begin to worship. Proclamation is the reading of the Word from the Old and New Testament,
preaching, and a statement of faith.
We then respond with our gifts and give thanks for God's mighty acts in Jesus
Christ. We are finally sent forth
with a blessing to be ministers of the Gospel message in our community.
Sacraments
The Lord’s Supper and Baptism are the two observances
in most Protestant Churches, including the United Methodist Church, designated as
“sacraments.” “We believe the sacraments, ordained by Christ, are symbols and pledges
of the Christian’s profession and of God’s love toward us. They are means of grace
by which God works invisibly in us, quickening, strengthening and confirming our
faith in him.” The United Methodist Book of Discipline,
Article VI of the Confession of Faith of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
