We live busy lives that are touched by God’s blessings every day. How do we carry God’s message forward to those around us? We reach, we connect, we learn and we serve. We show our faith through our actions and our behaviors. We open our doors, our hearts, and our minds. We grow our faith and reach out to those around us. We are called to make disciples.

Yet, our church facilities are tired. They are worn. Some parts of our facilities are worn out! And still we continue to reach out to the community with many programs that show God’s love. If we are to continue our current worship schedule, our existing outreach ministries, and launch our Long Range Plan, we have work to do.

We are embarking on a three-year Capital Campaign to raise $2 million to address these issues and take us to the threshold of the next phase of our ministry. At the heart of this campaign is the replacement of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system ($1.1 million). Additionally, we will provide the Trustees the ability to address other physical needs in the church ($565,000) and develop plans for the new Welcome Center ($250,000), approved as a part of the Long Range Plan last fall.

God’s plan for us is to offer open doors to the inside of our facility and open hearts outside to our community. We are to make disciples. With God’s blessings, Fairfax United Methodist Church can meet changing needs and continue our strong tradition of doing God’s work.
