On March 2, 2015, Pastor Gerde, Gene Black, and Ed McMeans presented the FUMC WWII Veteran Tribute Book to the Post Commander, Jacob Flores. Gene is a member of VFW Post 8469 and a Fairfax United Methodist Church WWII Veteran (Army). Also attending was Bill Hilbrink, Army, an FUMC WWII Veteran. The FUMC WWII Veterans who could not attend pass on their best wishes and fellowship to each Post member.

FUMC WWII Veterans participate in the Trinity Christian School WWII Curriculum

Pastor Gerde and Ed McMeans present a FUMC WWII Vet Tribute Book to Mr Brad Livingstone, Vice Principal TCS Upper School. FUMC WWII Veterans have been invited to participate in a WWII curriculum at TCS commemorating the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII. FUMC’s WWII Veterans’ participation begins March 11, 2015 and continues weekly through May 2015.

Curator Susan Inskeep has asked FUMC to lead a WWII Recognition event this summer.
