The Annual Strawberry Festival and the Silent Auction is to raise funds for Youth Missions and enjoy fellowship together. If we have a sunny evening, it will be in the courtyard or in the Narthex of the Fellowship Hall if we have windy or rainy weather. Come wind, rain or shine, we’ll be there for an evening of fellowship, featuring vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries, face painting, a cake walk and lots of fun. Tickets will be on sale in the Fellowship Hall beginning May 6, but may be purchased at the door that night. The cost is $2.50 per person with a family ticket price of $12.00.

We are offering four consecutive weeks of classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings beginning April 26-May 22. Our goal is to have a lot of fun, to move and to increase our energy levels. The cost for 8 classes is $40.00. On May 24 a make- up class is offered, at no additional charge, to those who sign up for 8 sessions and have a conflict on one of the regularly scheduled class dates. Prior to the first class, please get a written statement from your doctor letting us know that it is okay to exercise and advising of any restrictions. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. Let’s get moving!

Graduate Recognition Sunday is at the 9:30 am service on June 10th. Join us as we congratulate all of our congregations’ spring graduates. A reception will be held in their honor at 10:30 am in the Fellowship Hall.

Tour and Tea at the National Cathedral! We will enjoy the tour of the Cathedral, have Tea in the Pilgrim Observation Gallery with a scenic view of the city; visit the Herb Cottage Gift Shop; and hope to hear portions of an organ demonstration. We will leave the church at 12 noon and return at approximately 6:00pm. The cost is $35.

Dive in and discover God’s underwater universe! Swim with humpback whales and seahorses, scuba through a vibrant coral reef, and take a personal submarine to the ocean floor, where eels and octopi play. Through interactive lessons that are easy to apply to our lives today, “go deep” into God’s Word, exploring Bible stories of people who revealed deep faith by knowing how to:
- Depend on God
- Dare to care
- Claim Jesus
- Choose to follow
- Change the world
Vacation Bible School at FUMC will be July 9-13 from 9:00 am to noon daily. Cost for the week is $15.00 which will include one take home CD of the music per family. Registration will begin soon. Volunteers may contact Martha Peacock at (703) 591-3120.

FUMC’s Summer Music Camp 2012, “Put Your Arms Around the World,” is July 30-August 3 from 9am-12pm. Children ages 4 through rising 7th graders are invited to join in a week of singing, dancing, instruments, crafts, and more!
