As you may have noticed, certain elements of the website have been changed or moved. Please bear with us while we make these modifications to make our site more user friendly! Have a question? Feel free to comment below and let us know what’s on your mind. Here’s a recap of what’s been significantly changed or added: In an effort to make the site run quicker and smoother, the weekly videos are no longer embedded into the home page. Instead, you may watch the videos by clicking on the button located on the homepage under the main announcements. We are pleased to announce that sermon podcasts, videos and bulletins from each Sunday dating back to January are available in the Media section located in the main menu. You may also subscribe to these podcasts and listen to them anywhere via iTunes by clicking here. ONLY special events will be listed in the calendar. These events include special services, performances, holiday closings, classes and activities available to the congregation/general public. Until we are able to link our website calendar with our office calendar to automate updates, all events must be entered manually onto our website. This greatly limits the amount of events listed and we will NOT include committee or council meetings on our website calendar. To find out meeting dates, please refer to the calendars in the weekly bulletins. Updates, thoughts from the pastors, and other news in the church will now be posted here in our blog. Check back periodically to see what’s going on! Calling all photographers! We have photo section on our site but it’s been a little bare. If you have any photos from any recent church events, please share your digital copies with us. Photos may be emailed to aanthony@fairfaxumc.org. Don’t forget that Fairfax United Methodist Church is on Facebook and Twitter. Are we friends yet?

Fairfax Church and the Congregational Care Committee invite the congregation to be a part of Heritage Weekend on April 28-29 to lift up the ministry of Fairfax Church over many years. A Celebration Dinner for the entire congregation is planned for 5:30pm on Saturday evening, April 28th to honor those who have been members of our church for fifty years or more and those who have provided pastoral and staff leadership. Greg Adkins, former associate pastor, will bring our message in worship on Sunday; Charles Whittaker, former Director of Music, is a special guest returning to providing music and conduct the Chancel Choir. Both Greg and Charlie will also have remarks at the Dinner on Saturday and look forward to this opportunity to share fellowship and a meal with old friends. If you are a former choir member and would also like to participate, please let us know and we will advise you of the selections and rehearsal times. Please note, there will only be ONE worship service on Sunday, April 29 at 11:00 am. Following the service, there will be a reception and time to gather in the Fellowship Hall. Watch Millie Holdaway and Cheryl Dickerson share memories of joining Fairfax UMC back in 1965.
