Serve the World

Henderson Settlement

Frakes, KY (UM-GBGM Advance #773365)
Dates TBD (6 days, Sunday-Friday)

Henderson Settlement provides basic needs for an isolated area of Appalachia in Bell County, Kentucky. This will be the third year for an FUMC team to go to Henderson. Our projects have included sorting and stocking in the thrift store, window replacement, siding, door installation, drywall hanging and finishing, waterproofing and mold mitigation. FUMC supports a long-term missionary at Henderson (Vicki Stephenson). Click here for more information.

Youth Missions

This summer our junior high youth will be going to Winchester, VA to serve in mission at Jeremiah Project. Our senior high will be attending Service Over Self in Memphis, TN to provide home improvements, be in fellowship with other youth and experience a vibrant city.

Mision Fronteres

Copacabana, Bolivia (UM-GBGM Advance #3021288)
Oct-Nov 2014 (about 10-14 days)

In coordination with the Dakotas-Minnesota Episcopal Area, this team will work on construction projects, agricultural development, ESL and other culturally appropriate and need-based projects. We will share the vision for these mission trips, how they fit in the vision of missionary service in this church and how you can be a part of this ministry. Together we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in helping others, all the while showing the face of Christ to those that most need to see it.

Contact VIM coordinators, Marty Draper and Betsy Draper to get more information and the contacts for each project.
