Worship

At Fairfax United Methodist Church there are three morning worship services. All three of the services consist of four parts:

  1. Entrance and Praise is a time of preparation in prayer and song as we begin to worship.
  2. Proclamation of the Word includes scripture readings from both the Old and New Testaments as well as preaching.
  3. Response to the Word  We then respond to the word we have heard, read, sung and proclaimed by giving our gifts in thanks for the mighty acts of God.
  4. Sending Forth  Finally, we are sent forth with a blessing to be ministers of the Gospel message in the world.

It is our hope and prayer that you experience the living God in a new way in worship at Fairfax United Methodist Church.

Sunday Morning Worship Services
8:15am A service of Word and Communion is supported by special musical accompaniment. We read the ecumenical prayer concerns and lectionary readings and there is a sermon. Communion is shared weekly.
9:30am Our Traditional Worship Service is supported with music primarily by our adult chancel choir and the organ. We read all the lectionary readings for the day and there is a sermon. Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month.
11:15am Open Doors is Fairfax Church’s current modern worship offering. The spirit of this worship is driven by modern worship music, a great sense of community and an attitude where we strive to accept those at all points in their journey. We also hope to meet the needs of those seeking a different worship experience in a familiar place. Come as you are – We hope to see you in worship!.
