English As Second Language
The English as a Second Language Ministry has begun its seventh year at Fairfax Church. It is an important outreach ministry that reaches hundreds of new immigrants, offering not only English classes, but also friendship and community.

Boy Scout Troop 187
Boys in 5th - 12th grade are eligible to join Boy Scout Troop 187. The Troop is open to all families, not just church members. Meetings are held each Monday at the church 7:30-9:00 pm. Brain Sachlis is the Committee Chair for the troop and is the Scout Representative for Fairfax United Methodist Church. Brian Stewart is the Scout Master for the troop. Older boys can experience high adventure trips. This summer a group is going to Philmont. Younger boys experience orienteering campouts. Troop activities for all of the boy scouts include White Water Rafting, Winter Skiing, Scouting for Food, Other Service Projects, Summer Camps and of course camping and hiking.

Cub Scout Troop 187
Boys in 1st - 5th grade are eligible to join Cub Scout Pack 187. The Pack is open to all families, not just church members and draws from Daniels Run, Providence, Fairfax Villa, and Mosby Woods elementary schools. Meetings are held each Monday at the church (6:00-7:00 pm for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, 7:00-8:00 pm for 4th and 5th graders).

Girl Scout Troop 187
Girl Scout Troop 1016 is a Senior Girl Scout Troop for girls in 9th through 12th grade. Meeting times are every other Wednesday at the church room 115 - 6:30 to 8:15 p.m.

FACETS
FACETS (Fairfax Area Christian Emergency and Transitional Services)- Fairfax Church participates in this outreach ministry with 60 area churches to respond to the diverse and multiple needs of homeless and low-income people living in Fairfax. Hotmeals is a ministry to bring nutritious evening meals to homeless families temporarily housed in motels or living on the streets of central Fairfax. Fairfax Church participates in this ministry by cooking and serving meals on the first and third Friday of each month.

The Lamb Center
The LAMB Center is a drop-in center for the homeless located in the City of Fairfax. Clients of the center can do laundry, receive mail, take a shower, use the telephone and receive help finding available assistance. Volunteers work at the Center in shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
